Amber Distribution - Wholesale And Retail
This page is a help page for people who are interested in selling Polish products either on a retail or on a wholesale basis. This page shows examples of people who are selling Polish products very successfully. It shows pictures of small businesses to are selling to the foreign business trade in Poland. The retail customers that you see buying here are generally Germans, British, and Americans.
One of the most effective ways to sell to a small shop, home party business people, country fairs and flea market sellers is to take the product directly to them. In this first section you see a couple trucks that are loaded with Polish amber and silver jewelry and other gift items said are taken directly to the retailers. The people who operate these trucks sell thousands of dollars per day of amber and silver jewelry. On some days there sales exceed tens of thousand dollars per day.
You do not have to have a large van like this. You can stop a lot of jewelry in the trunk of a car. If you have a larger vehicle you can stock a lot more, of course.
In this first four pictures you see how one amber distributor keeps traders at the tourist markets supplied. The distributor carries other essentials for people in the jewelry trade.
Customers line up at the back of the truck and pay cash for the supplies that they need.
In this next set of pictures you see another amber distributor. This one specializes in amber and carries high end items like amber tiffany lamps and amber pictures.
In this section you see an amber retailer in a tourist area near the Baltic. This retailer had both amber and silver jewelry and raw amber necklaces and bracelets. She sold more than any of the other retailers in the area simply because she had more. It was difficult to get pictures because people were constantly coming to her booth. In that small booth she did the selling and someone else took the cash.
You can make a lot of money by putting up a small stand like this at a country fair, a sporting event, a community supper or other community of that. The set up costs for a stand like this are extremely low and the only real costs that you have is for your inventory.
A stand like this can be a weekend operation that you can have run by someone else or you can run it yourself. You can make an agreement was someone that you will provide the amber and that they will get a percentage of the profits. If you do this you can have a few tents at different locations and leverage your time.
We will soon be putting up some pictures of some kiosks in shopping malls that do the same as these outside tents.
In this picture you can see the variety of amber that she had. She did not price it low! She pushed the upper limits on pricing and cut prices, if she had to, on individual sales.
This shows how another retailer sells the raw baltic amber. The display is common and really pulls sales. The more you have hanging, the more you sell.
Another small display of raw amber necklaces.
I had to shoot this one at 0830 on Sunday Morning so that I could get a picture. Normally the tent is filled with people.
This is a case from a very active amber jewelry shop. It is simple and very effective. It is wood construction, glass sliding doors, and has a wooden back with a white burlap cover into which pins are stuck to hold the amber.
Note that much of the amber that you see here is the same amber that is hanging in the stalls. And it is priced higher.
